Our mission
The superyacht industry operates at the intersection of luxury and safety. Vessel owners and operators deserve certainty that the crew aboard their vessels hold the qualifications they claim — and crew deserve a platform that represents their credentials accurately and professionally.
Yacht Crew Register was built to close the gap between credential claims and verified reality. We work directly with issuing authorities, flag state administrations, and maritime training providers to confirm every certification before a crew member's profile is published.

Verification process
How verification works
Every crew member goes through a structured verification process before their profile is listed on the register. This is not a self-declaration system — credentials are confirmed against primary sources.
Document submission
Crew submit scanned copies of all certificates, endorsements, and sea service records through our secure portal. Documents are reviewed for completeness and authenticity markers.
Primary source confirmation
Certifications are verified directly with issuing bodies — the MCA, flag state administrations, and accredited STCW training providers. We do not rely on crew-supplied copies alone.
Sea service validation
Employment history is cross-referenced against vessel records and referee contacts. Each sea service entry is confirmed with the vessel owner, captain, or management company.
Reference verification
References are contacted directly by our team. Testimonials are only published once the referee has confirmed their identity, role, and the content of their statement.
Ongoing monitoring
Verified profiles are monitored for expiring certifications. Crew are notified ahead of expiry dates and must resubmit updated documents to maintain verified status.
Standards we verify against
STCW 2010 (Manila Amendments)
The International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, as amended in Manila. Covers basic safety, proficiency in survival craft, advanced fire fighting, and medical first aid.
MCA Large Yacht Code (LY3)
Maritime and Coastguard Agency standards for commercially operated yachts over 24 metres. Officer of the Watch, Chief Mate, and Master certificates verified against MCA records.
Flag state endorsements
Certificates of Equivalency and flag state endorsements confirmed across 40+ administrations including Cayman Islands, Marshall Islands, Bahamas, Isle of Man, and Malta.
ENG1 medical fitness
Current seafarer medical fitness certificates from MCA-approved medical practitioners. Expiry dates tracked and crew notified 90 days before lapse.
ISPS & security training
Ship Security Officer and Crowd Management certificates verified for applicable roles. Security awareness training confirmed for all listed crew.
Industry partnerships
We work alongside maritime training providers, flag state administrations, and yacht management companies to maintain the integrity of the register. Our verification protocols are reviewed annually against current IMO and flag state guidance.
